App Content
The content provided in the app is purely educational. All the digital resources like animations, i-books, lesson plans, i-activities are developed to aid in the teaching-learning process in a class.
All the content provided completely adheres to the curriculum developed by AstraGen for Nursery to Grade 10.
Location data — what we collect, when, and why
Astra Dashboard collects your device location only during an active work session — from the moment you tap Check In until you tap Check Out. No location data is collected when you are not checked in.
Foreground and background collection
During an active work session, location is collected continuously, including in the background — that is, while the app is minimized, the screen is off, or the app has been closed by the system. This is required so that the travel path between check-in and check-out is recorded accurately, even when the device is in your pocket or another app is in the foreground. Collection stops automatically the moment you check out.
App Functionality
Astragen app is developed to bring the learning environment home for the children. It provides various tools and resources developed by AstraGen to aid the child's education by creating a hybrid model of off/online learning platform.
Ads
We do not place ads of any sort in our app. This is purely an educational app meant solely for the purpose of aiding the child's education.
Data Collection
The data we collect for the proper function of the app includes their name, gender, mobile numbers / email address.
The purpose of the name and gender is to address the child as he uses the app. The purpose of mobile numbers / email address is to provide a way for the users to retrieve a lost password or reset the password.
We do not share or sell the data collected from the users with any third parties. We do not use the data collected from the users for any kind of advertising or suggestions. The data is purely to service the user better in case of any requests from their side.
Internal Employee Tracking
For internal administrative purposes, specifically for employee management and to ensure the proper functioning of our internal processes, we collect data from our employees using the app. This feature is strictly for internal use and is not accessible to the public or to app users.
The data collected includes:
- Employee check-in and check-out times: This information is collected to manage attendance.
- Location data: We track an employee's location only during their official work hours, from the time they check in until they check out. This data is collected to verify that employees are within designated work areas or on assigned routes.
Purpose:
The location data is used for two purposes only:
(a) to verify that employees are within their assigned work area or on their assigned route, and
(b) to calculate the distance travelled between check-in and check-out for travel-allowance reimbursement.
Data Retention and Security:
- All data collected for internal employee tracking is stored securely on our internal servers.
- Access to this data is strictly limited to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis (e.g., HR, managers).
- The data is not shared with or sold to any third-party providers.
- All location and check-in/check-out data is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 45 to 60 days of collection.
Consent:
This feature is used with the full knowledge and explicit consent of our employees. They are informed about the data collected, the purpose of the collection, and the data retention period.
This internal tracking feature is compliant with the requirements for Android and iOS app submission. We have implemented it with a focus on data privacy, security, and employee consent.
APIs and SDKs
All the APIs and SDKs are compliant for use in child-directed services. We do not use google sign-in (or any other Google API Service that accesses data associated with a Google Account), Google Play Games Services, and any other API Service using OAuth technology for authentication and authorization.
Legal Compliance
The content provided in the app, APIs and SDKs used are compliant with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy and Protection Act (COPPA), E.U. General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Consent
Before location is collected for the first time on any device, you will see an in-app disclosure screen explaining the above. Location collection only begins after you tap Continue on that screen and grant the Android system permission. You can revoke the permission at any time from your device's system Settings; the app will stop collecting location immediately.
Retention
All location data — including the recorded travel path — is automatically and permanently deleted from our servers within 45 to 60 days of collection, or sooner once the related travel-allowance claim has been settled, whichever is earlier.
Sharing
Location data is shared only with your employer (the organization that issued your Astra Dashboard credentials) and is never sold or shared with any third party for advertising, profiling, or analytics purposes.
Information we collect
The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.
If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of the message and/or attachments you may send us, and any other information you may choose to provide.
When you register for an Account, we may ask for your contact information, including items such as name, company name, address, email address, and telephone number.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect in various ways, including to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain our website.
- Improve, personalize, and expand our website.
- Understand and analyze how you use our website.
- Develop new products, services, features, and functionality.
- Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners, including for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the website, and for marketing and promotional purposes.

Log Files
Astragen follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and are a part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users' movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Like any other website, Astragen uses ‘cookies'. These cookies are used to store information including visitors' preferences, and the pages on the website that the visitor accessed or visited. The information is used to optimize the users' experience by customizing our web page content based on visitors' browser type and/or other information.

If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

- This app is intended solely for the education of the child. No content that is deemed to be harmful for the child will be available in this app.
- All the user generated content will be monitored and appropriate actions will be taken if any violations to the children's safety and rights are found.
- This app is developed by AstraGen India Pvt. Ltd. We are the sole owners of the literary, intellectual and multimedia content in this app.
- We do not collect any unnecessary data from the users. We do not share or sell any data generated by the users with any third parties.
